Annea Lockwood (born July 29, 1939) is a pioneering New Zealand-born American composer, sound artist, and academic. For over six decades, she has been a leading figure in avant-garde music, celebrated for her revolutionary exploration of natural acoustic sounds, environmental field recordings, and performance art. She taught composition and sound art at Vassar College for over twenty years (1982–2003), retiring as Professor Emerita.

Among her many achivements she is known for her River Sound Maps.
