In The Beginning, Boston
After moving to the Boston area in the late 1970s/1980, she began her musical odyssey playing a dilapidated accordion purchased from a junk store.
After her accordion was stolen or destroyed, she transitioned to a Casio keyboard (specifically the MT-40) paired with a phase shifter/echo delay pedal and a headset mic.
She became a beloved fixture of the Boston streetscape by wearing a flamboyant outfit capped with a costume-shop winged helmet affixed with a blinking light bulb.
She played ethereal, psychedelic, and otherworldly electronic covers of popular pop and rock songs (like "Major Tom" and "Ghost Riders in the Sky") alongside her own eccentric originals.
After her time in Boston, she moved to San Francisco in the late 1980s where she continued busking for another 16 years before retiring around 2000.
Championed by Irwin Chusid's Songs in the Key of Z, she gained worldwide cult acclaim, returned to performing in 2012, and even returned to Boston for a rare live appearance at the Lilypad in Cambridge in 2015.
