The group was an eight-piece band with horns.Kuban was heavily influenced by Ike & Tina Turner, whom he would watch perform at Club Imperial in St. Louis before his band became regulars. He said, "I just loved the band so much... I mimicked a lot of the stuff that they did. We had the horn section in my band. When Ike and Tina Turner left, we were able to play there. .

The Wippets 星 Video

========================

In 1964, Jan Kerouac was briefly in a girl group called The Whippets.[2] The group, which consisted of Kerouac, Charlotte Rosenthal, and Bibbe Hansen, released one single, "I Want to Talk to You," a song response to the song "I Want to Hold Your Hand." The B-side, "Go Go Go with Ringo," also reflected the Beatlemania of the time. The single did not chart or get much airplay, and the Whippets broke up.[3]

========================

Jan Kerouac was Jack Kerouac's only child. She was born on February 16, 1952 in Albany, New York. Jack had nothing to do with Jan's upbringing and she was raised by her mother Joan Haverty, mostly in New York City and in the American northwest, along with her half-brother David Bowers. Beginning in her turbulent teenage years, Jan was frequently on the road. She was an adventurer, making frequent trips to Mexico, Central and South America. It was around this time that she met John Cassady, Neal Cassady's son, who proposed to her.

Like her father, she possessed a vivid imagination and memory and a love of words. She recounted many of the experiences in her dramatic and exciting life in two novels, "Baby Driver" and "Trainsong".

And so time passes, passes by, passes over, passes away and through and pass the butter please. Sometimes time passes by so fast...you can't even see those seconds make their little streaks of reentry into your heart."

(This does appear to be issued after her death.) I have to agree with the jacket notes that "this recording is both a unique and fascinating document" of this great performer. Side A: Selections from La Traviata (Verdi) and I Puritani (Bellini). Side B: Selections from Anna Bolena (Donizetti). Side C: Selections from Macbeth (Verdi) and Die Entfuhrung Aus Dem Serail (Mozart). Transfer and restoration from the Historical Recording Enterprises LP HRE 2322." Transfer by Bob Varney. Chapeau (Passe-Partout No L1.) Bernard Heidsieck 1970 France.

"Chapeau, finished in July 1970, is the latest in Bernard Heidsieck's new series of action poems (called Passe-Partout) based on real-life stories.

A few years ago, a Danish soldier was thoroughly bored during OTAN exercises. As he was a radio-operator he relieved his boredom by reading on the radio parts of a book which he had in his pocket, Henry Miller's Tropic of Cancers.

This kind of literature astonished the staff at SHAPE headquarters. When it was finally discovered where the offending broadcasts were coming from, the poor soldier was sentenced to 15 days in jail.

Heidsieck's own voice is used in this treatment of the story, which is pointed to bring out its surrealist qualities by electro-acoustical treatment."

The early internet was an exciting frontier that offered formative new opportunities. However, many of these platforms today have been significantly altered, placed behind paywalls, or completely removed, leading to the loss of important pieces of internet history. This prevents early internet users from accessing the nostalgic content that once shaped their lives.

Bill and Tony 1972 Directed by Antony Balch

"Bill and Tony" is an experimental film by William S. Burroughs and Antony Balch, created in the early 1970s. It features Burroughs and Balch seated next to each other, engaging in a repetitive dialogue where they take turns identifying as "Bill" and "Tony," and telling stories in a fragmented, almost nonsensical manner. The film is known for its avant-garde style and use of repetition, which was considered challenging and even unsettling by some viewers at the time.
